Spirit Lake Ice Fishing Trip

Well I'm planning ahead for our Weekend Ice Fishing Trip to Spirit Lake and I'm picking the weekend of February 4th. Walt is going to kill me, but the Boat Show is January 21st, Hanks Ice Fishing Tournament is January 28th, and the Club Banquet is February 12th. Amazing how winter gets pretty busy when it is suppose to be the slow time of the year. So mark your calendars and lets hope the perch fishing will be good again this year.

Kyle, when I looked at the 2012 calander I figured the weekend of the 4th would be the most likely. However I may choose to go up on the 3rd and come back on the 4th -- So if anyone is interested in the 3rd, let me know.

Wingding and I have reservations at the Northland Inn for the night of 2nd 3rd and 4th.
The rates were pretty amazing only $45.00 per night.

Kyle are you still planning on going to Spirit the 4th.
The reason I ask is that I talked to Walt and he is not going and Heltibridles are
not going.
I still have my reservations but I hate to be the only one up there playing in the
surface water.

Still planning on going. Sounds like a light crew this year. I thought we were real fishermen and not internet fishermen?

Wow, I thought Limit posted it as a joke. As always be safe on the ice and in a boat. Or just play if safe and and watch people having fun via the internet. But be careful, don't get electrocuited. :D

Well again, it doesn't take too much to stir the kool-aid on the CVWC forum. My previous post was intended to poke a bit of fun and was pertaining towards internet fishing reports and nothing at all to do with ice conditions. The Cedar Valley lost a fisherman last night, and whether a club member or not, any and all fishermen feel sadness for him and his family. So when you get a moment to yourself or on your next fishing adventure lets all say a pray for this fellow fisherman and his family.

God Bless All Fishermen and Be Safe, Kyle

Good post Kyle. OBD and I were coming back from up north with his boat and noticed no one fishing on wyth lake or brinker. Might be the last time on ice????????? Early spring and open water. Got to love Iowa. JD
