Summer Episode of Iowa Outdoors Premieres on Iowa Public Television June 9 at 6:30 p.m.



(Johnston, Iowa) -- On Thursday, June 9 at 6:30 p.m., viewers across the state can enjoy the fourth episode of Iowa Outdoors, a television series focusing on outdoor recreation, environmental issues, conservation initiatives, and Iowa’s outdoor natural resources. The series is created through a partnership between Iowa Public Television and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

The summer episode takes viewers on a bike ride across the High Trestle trail in central Iowa. This episode will also show what it takes for the Iowa DNR to spawn the next generation of fish on Spirit Lake. And in the final segment of the program, viewers can take a behind-the-scenes look at the world famous Decorah eagle nest.

Following the June 9 premiere, viewers can see the fourth episode again on IPTV LEARNS (IPTV.2) Friday, June 10 at 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.; on IPTV WORLD Saturday, June 11 at 9:30 a.m.; and Monday, June 13 at 8:30 a.m. on IPTV LEARNS (IPTV.2). The series of six high-definition programs broadcast on Iowa Public Television will coincide with the publication of Iowa Outdoors magazine, which is published six times a year. More information about Iowa Outdoors magazine is available at www.iowaoutdoorsmagazine.com.

In addition to profiling sites and activities around Iowa, each episode will offer how-to outdoor cooking recipes and nature photography tips from Iowa’s top wildlife shutterbugs.
