Handline Reels

Any suggestions on the brand or equipment someone should purchase for a decent handline setup? Any special features to look for?

From my experience the A & S handline reel is the way to go. It has an enclosed reel which is an advantage. We use what is called "20 lb Mason's hard mono" for the leads because it is quite stiff and is easier to untangle when you get lures all balled up together which is inevitable handlining. You can buy handline weights or make your own with the most common weight used from 1 1/4 lb to 2lb. This is a start to it but there is more too much to add. RH
