Fished for awhile after work today. About 7 inches of good ice where I was. Started deep in about 20 fow, and only had one fish rise to my jig, brought it up a little, then I think the fish and my wax worm had a staring contest. Not sure who won, but the fish went back to the bottom without biting.
Moved in closer to about 13 feet and had one fly up to my jig as it was dropping, slammed it, somehow missed it, then it went away too. Finally started getting slow but steady action closer to 10 feet. Had a few show up suspended at 3-4 feet and they bit too.
Used a glow green gill pill with a waxie the whole time and ended up with about 12 fish total. Gills and crappies, nothing big enough to keep, but enough to keep me on the ice for about 2 hours.
