CVWC Spirit Lake Ice Fishing Weekend

I have heard from multiple club members who would like to see a CVWC Ice Fishing Weekend! No tournament, just a weekend to get out of town during the winter, do some ice fishing, and have fun with fellow club members. Because of the great perch fishing on Spirit Lake in recent winters and access to multiple local waters and species of fish. The Spirit Lake area would be a great venue for this event. We are planning on the first weekend in February (5th & 6th) and have not decided on a place for lodging. If anyone has any experience in the area as far as good lodging, please post a reply. I would like to have someplace with reasonable rates, able to clean fish on site, and enough room for around 10-15 guys! Mark your calendars, tell your buddies, and lets go fishing!

This sounds like a really good idea Kyle. You can count me in. Only have one
request, I would like someplace that has a BINGO game close by.

Hope that room has two beds OBD---I won't be sleeping with you if I can help it! But looking forward to a great time on the lake. I was up there last week and only fished for 3 hours and got 6 nice perch till time ran out. Can't wait to give it a two day shot. Leave the 4 wheeler home. Plenty of ice to drive out on either lake.

FYI to all heading to Spirit Lake this weekend! I will be bringing my electric fryer, breader, and shore lunch breading to fry fish each evening. We are staying at the Northland Inn where most everyone is staying. If you are staying off site you are welcome to join us. Feel free to throw something in a crock pot or bring whatever along to share with everyone. I will also bring bowls, plates, and utensils. Now all we need to do is catch something to eat! My cell phone # is 319-215-7877, so call if you have any questions or want to know what time the fish fry is. Most importantly don't forget or favortie beverage and lets catch some perch and have some fun.
