Well another tough September river bite for the CVWC anglers for this last weekends tournament on Pool 11 of the Mississippi River, launching out of Guttenberg, IA. We did have one boat that found the magic spot, the magic presentation, & the magic bait to blow away the field!!! We had 11 boats and 22 anglers fish the tournament and the club's total take was $209, plus one new member, Tom Merrron (Dave Merron's brother)! Finishing first with a monster bag of fish, during tough conditions, was the team of our very own CVWC President Doug Bonwell & Greg Mahlstedt with 5 fish for 14.60 lbs, with their biggest fish going 6.20 lbs! We all expect a very detailed report from Doug & Greg at the October meeting to see how they found and caught their fish, so don't miss it!!! Great job guys that is one of the best bags of fish that has been weighed at any CVWC tournament! Finishing second with one very nice fish for 4.50 lbs was the brother-brother team of Dave Merron and new member Tom Merron! Finishing third with one fish for 1.60 lbs was the team of Dave Asche & George Schaefers. Finishing fourth at their very first CVWC tournament was the team of Brad Behrens & Zach Bindert with one fish for 1.56 lbs. The rest of the field was unable to bring any fish to the scales and the participation drawing went to the team of Walter Ertz & Walt Lattimer! Well that is the report and we hope to see everyone at our next tournament on October 9th, on Pool 9, launching out of Lansing, IA!
