Cloudy skies and rain greeted the Cedar Valley Walleye Club tournament teams as they kicked off the season on pool nine at Genoa WS. There was plenty of rain and "dinks" for everyone to go around, in addition to the "raingear" test. Congratulations to the first place team of Tim and Tom Ahrens they scored five fish for a total of 13.4 pounds along with second place big fish at 3.51 pounds. The second place team of Doug Bonwell and Greg Mahlstedt scored five fish for 13.16 pounds. Third place went to the team of Mike Everding and Billy Martin with a five fish score of 10.26 pounds and first place big fish at 3.78 pounds. Greg Azbill and Grant Rowe scored four fish at 8.08 pounds for fourth place. Rounding out the top five was the team of Kolebe and Jerry Ferguson with a two fish score for 4.88 pounds. Congratulations to all of the tournament anglers for making our format change to CRR a success. If you have never fished this format, give it a try, you will be surprised at the ease of which it flows and the fun of it all. Our next tournament is April 10th on pool 10 with the launch taking place out of Harpers Ferry city ramp. The water level on the river is good and the fishing is good. Sign up and give it a try !
