tournament rules
Are the tournament rules that are on the tournament tab now the new rules?
Re: tournament rules
No, they are not the new rules. The tournament board will be voting on the revisions next week. The new rules will then be posted after the vote.

The new rules have been posted. I will also have copies for people at Guttenberg.

Re: tournament rules
I know it's the same pool, but is it railroad track to railroad track. Just trying to clarify. Also the 2 bait rule. Can a person use for example two umbrella rigs? just want to clear up possible confusing issues.

We have never had anything in our rules to say that you have to stay within the tracks. However, if we launch from the IA side we are using IA fishing regulations unless otherwise specified in our rules. I think that if you are past the tracks on, say, the WI side, then you are no longer fishing IA boundary waters so you left the pool. This is just my interpretation, yours may be different.
With that, I agree we still have some changes to make other rules more clear. However, we were only addressing the rules that we had issues with at Genoa.
With the umbrella rigs........... here is the rule form the IA DNR.
HOOKS
When fishing by hook and line you cannot use
more than two lines or more than two hooks on
each line when still fishing or trolling. When fly
fishing, you cannot use more than two flies on
one line. When you are trolling and bait casting,
you cannot use more than two trolling spoons or
artificial baits on one line. A third line may be used
when possessing a valid third line fishing permit.
You cannot leave fish line or lines with hooks in the
water unattended by being out of visual sight of the
lines. One hook means a single, double or treblepointed
hook, and all hooks attached as a part of
an artificial bait or lure shall be counted as one
hook. An Alabama (umbrella) rig is not an artificial
bait or lure.
An umbrella rig is essentially the same thing as a 3 way. your main line attaches to it and like a 3 way, it splits into multiple lines from the attachment point. So if you are using 2 swim baits on an umbrella rig and each have a hook then you have your two baits and cannot use a second line/rod. So if you want to use more than one umbrella rig then you can only have one hook total on each umbrella rig.
