For those not at the May monthly meeting here are some new tournament rules.
#1 VHF Marine Channel 10 is the new VHF marine channel for all pre & post tournament communication, tournament distress, and takeoff, instead of channel 24. Channel 24 is not a public channel and the CVWC tournament board is sorry for the confusion at the Storm Lake tournament.
#2 New boat number procedure! Instead of drawing for boat numbers the morning of the tournament, takeoff numbers will be in order of paid entry. Entries via mail will be entered according to postmark date. No verbal, email, website, or representative requests. When the TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR recieves your money is when you get your boat number.
#3 New official measuring device for all CVWC tournaments will be the "Golden Rule" measuring board. Livewell check official will have a calibrated stick (stick calibrated to the 15" mark of the "Golden Rule" measuring board) with him during livewell checks and you may ask him for the calibrated stick to calibrate your measuring device to the official board. It is YOUR responsibility to ask for the stick and do your own calibrating. Also, before weigh-in you may ask the tournament director for the official measuring device to measure any questionable fish at your boat, before bring them to the scales.
