:?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: Anyone!

OK things slow on the Forum so, what is your favorite fish to cook on the grill and how?

----yes, yes I know recipes go in another heading but - what can it hurt to discuss here?

My favorite is to make Fish Tacos on the grill. Marinate the fish in oil, lime juice, or margarita mix, then grill until flakey. place cooked fish, a thin slice of avocado, mango salsa and fresh garden lettuce on a heated flour tortilla :D --
Wash down with a margarita ;) ;) :D

Holy Fish Buckets, :o

I think your right Doug, I seen a guy that eats those fish taco's and he was SHORT.
I think his name was "Walter" aka Shorty
....

He was just on a trip with us at Ken Mar Kee Resort. :o :o :o
And I think he was drinking Margarita's. :o :o :o :o :o

I won't have that problem according to Walleye Carl as I don't catch enough fish
for the tacos....
...    .Maybe it's the Margaritas......I might have to give up drinking.
:x :x :x :x :x :x

Hey Old Fisheye Here.

After this years trout stocking at No. Prairie, I tried this on the grill. Fillet trout, then remove the pin bones, I use tweezers, bigger fish you could probably cut them out. Leave skin on. Rinse and pat dry with paper towel. Coat with butter or olive oil, sprinkle on Morton's Nature's Seasons seasoning blend. I like more than just a little. Put skin side down, close grill lid. I think I did mine around 10 minutes or until the fish was flaking and edges slightly curling. I have a fish grate for the grill. My wife and I both like it.

Nay Doug, just changes the growing direction from Up to Out 8-) :P

Thanks for the good cooking reference Bill. I'll have to try your trout on the grill this fall ;)

BTW - there is a link to a youtube Taco fish Recipe I' placed on the Recipe tab a year or so ago -- that one is very goos as well. Just takes more prep time :) ---However that could leave more time for Margarita's

Grilled bass it can't be beat!
I don't know why you would want to cover the taste of the fish up with a fish taco.

Catch some large bass, not hard to do. Keep in a warm water until dead. Clean bass after several hour trip home. rinse fillets with warm water and apply a heavy covering of salt and grill. Grill on low heat for at least three beers. let cool and enjoy!

It you can't catch bass this will work for sheephead also. I think sheephead taste better them musky or smallmouth bass.

enjoy

Its hard to beat catfish on the grill. I actually do them indirectly with charcoal and wood chips. Just enough chips to add a little smoke. I chunk up the fish into steaks and then just lightly coat them with olive oil and lemon pepper seasoniong. When they flake they are done. I try do do this once a year for the guys during playing cards. Makes for some good food and conversation.

Brian,
Next time instead of lemon pepper on your catfish - try Cajun seasoning 8-)
