Storm Lake

Post by FireTiger »

Instead of coming up to the meeting on Monday, I decided to drive two hours the other way and hit Storm Lake. It was cold, a little windy and a little rainy. Managed to get a 19, 18, 15, and 13 in walleye and nice a catfish in a span of about 3 hours. The 18 and 19 obviously fell into the slot. The DNR were netting eyes for the spawn, and reported that a good number had already spawned. Water temp was 51, and ice had been out for just under a week, but they had 2 80 degree days in there. There seems to be a lot of slot fish being caught, and this spring is the most they have seen over the slot limit which is 22 in. They have also collected over 3,000 pounds of buffalo(probably more now) that they have gotten out of the lake.

Where caught? all in the mouth

Baits used? Stink Bait, Dare Devil Spoons, and #18 FLoating Rapala 8-)
