I am looking for some used gear to get started hand lining. I would need reels, shanks, and weights.

Chase, Hand line shanks and weights are easy to make. Several Club members including myself can help you out. I would recommend A&S brand reels out of Michigan, pretty much trouble free.
Good Luck this weekend at your MWC tournament in South Dakota!

Chase-tooo much time in that back seat of MV's ranger. 6 1/2 ft.pole and work them wings. cast cast cast! But I'll say if you want to hand line you got the #1 teacher a guy could get. Learn and execute. Good luck bud.

You know I'm a bass fisherman! Cast cast cast with a three pound lead weight will wear a guy down. I showed everyone how well handlinning worked at the ice bowl tournament with the big fat zero! So I think I will sell all my handlinning stuff and pick up something new. I have a jig rod some place all covered with dust and worm guts and gulp crap. I think its with my catfish stuff.

It looks like no one has any used stuff to buy right now

, so I have been searching the web a little and found this site
http://tightlinecom.com/tackle/handlining_1.htm. For those of you who have bought A&S reels is this a good price? Any suggestions on where to possibly find them cheaper?
I have President Tim looking in the Detroit River area this next week. Hopefully he can strike a deal over there in the land of monster eyes.
