I booked at the Cobblestone yesterday, from the 15th - 20th, I plan on staying a couple of extra days depending on the bite and the weather. I may have room if someone wants to split it (I rented the queen suite for the extra five bucks). My wife and I stayed at the Cobblestone in an extended stay suite a couple of years ago and found it to be a nice place to stay. However if you are finding rooms for 1/2 the price, maybe I need to rethink staying arrangements... the location of the Cobblestone is handy, but I will do whatever.

I have also booked at the Cobblestone from the 15th thur the 19th. I think we should be staying at the same place as a group, if staying at different places, getting started can be a big problem in the mornings, just my 2$.

I called North Dakota dmv and they tell me if your Iowa reg. is current you are ok.

I would trust what the DMV said about the registration. You will need a permit to ride on public land and trails. (Devils Lake is considered public land)

Thanks for reminding me of this. I better make sure my dad has his stuff registered. He has been known to skip a year or two.

Another thing worth mentioning, I was looking at the ND. rules and it looks like they allow
anglers to use 4 poles while ice fishing. Da I'm bringing a couple of tip-ups.

Chase, another question. In Iowa you can't ride double on an ATV, can you in N.D.
Thanks Joe

Here are the ND OHV rules for 2017-2019. http://www.parkrec.nd.gov/recreation/at ... Manual.pdf

Places to review in the link above:
Registration and payment of fees is not required of: (NDCC 39-29-04), Look at item #3.

OUT-OF-STATE Off-Highway Vehicle Permit on Page 6. I was correct about the registration. However, there is a $10 permit that you need to buy.

Riding with Passengers (NDCC 39-29-09) on page 21.

I just booked a room at the Cobblestone also 15th-19th. Isn't there a good chance pickups can just drive on the ice without having to haul an ATV? Randy H.
Rooster, I'm all shot to pieces, well you asked for it.

Yep, at that time of year I would expect to be driving on the lake. Where ATVs with tracks or snowmobiles are nice is when there is too much snow for trucks.
