The CVWC tournament anglers fished Pool 9 of the Mississippi River yesterday (10/9) with high water & grassy conditions and put some nice catches in the boat! We had 13 boats and 25 anglers bring 24 fish to the scales, with the top two teams weighing their limits! Not only did the top two teams bring in their limits, they both proclaimed to land more than 50 fish per boat! What were they doing? Well it turns out that some members were listening to Matt Vlasak's presentation on leadcore trolling at last Mondays CVWC monthly meeting! Trolling cranks in running sloughs was the top presentation for the tournament! For their first CVWC tournament win, the team of Bryce Bentley and Mike Everding, both from the Fayette area, weighed 5 fish for 8.18 lbs! Second place went to the team of Trent Schneck and Brice Thompson, both from the Cedar Valley, with 5 fish for 7.50 lbs! Third place went to the team of Jim Allen and Jim Kobliska, both from the Cedar Valley, with 4 fish for 6.96 lbs! Fourth place went to the team of Dave Asche and George Schaefers, both for NE Iowa, with 2 fish for 5.18 lbs! The Participation Drawing went to the team of Dave Cook and Matt Mulbrook! The clubs take for the tournament was $208! Make sure to attend the November CVWC monthly meeting to hear more about where and how the top teams caught their fish! Great job guys!
