Crappies on Clear Lake

Post by jordan.tagtow »

I fished yesterday (April 26) and the bite was awesome. They were chasing down a jig/minnow aggressively, and the bite was even better when the sun was out. Most 10+ inches. Largest was 12.5". 7'-8- of water, they were about mid way or higher in the water column.

Nice mess of Crappies! Thanks for the report. Hopefully the weather and Walleye's will cooperate for us next Saturday. I understand the Clear Lake Fishing Club is having a C.R.R. Walleye Tournament today, I'll be curious to see the results.
Thanks Again Jordan!

You're correct - CLFC has a e-tournament today and there was a musky tournament yesterday. LOTS of boats out (maybe 50?), the majority being fishing boats - but several pleasure boats out too. Forecast looks good so far... I'll keep my fingers crossed :D

I don't normally keep much fish, but figured I'd start "stocking up" for the Family Day this year.
