Our next Family/Kids Event

Post by tahrens »

This Sunday August 18th 10am-1pm. we will be assisting with the Fishing portion of the Military Family Day at Big Woods Lake in North Cedar. The Black Hawk Co. Conservation Commission is hosting the activities. They are expecting around 80 participants including 30-40 kids. We will be at the North End by the campground at the fishing dock. Let's show our support to these Military Families. The more help the better!

Hope to see you there!
Thanks, Tim

Some info about the upcoming Military Family Day for our volunteers from Black Hawk County:

Subject: Military Benefit Program 8.18.24

Good evening,

Thank you again so much for your part in the even on Sunday. If you have any questions what so ever that pop up, please let me know.

Where to park and what time to arrive:
Please park in the group parking lot by where archery is located (map attached below). Please arrive no later than 9:30 to ensure set up is done correctly, and you have everything you need.
See attached map of event.

What are we in charge of?
You and your team will lead the fishing unit. I know your group is great, and will help everyone put worms on, cast, and hopefully catch a lot of fish!
What is Black Hawk County Conservation supplying?
We will supply the fishing poles, a tackle box (hopefully stocked with everything you will need), towels to wipe hands, and worms a plenty. Shout out to Cooks Outdoors for donating some worms.

Thank you again so much for helping with this event, we truly appreciate it. If there is anything we can do, let us know.

Have a wonderful night.
