Lake Okoboji Official Results!

Post by tahrens »

Saturday May 20th.13 teams departed from Highway 9 Boat landing in East Okoboji with calm conditions with high expectations to record a five fish limit. The weather the previous day was windy and cold. Saturday's weather was calm and warm, but the fishing for Walleye was stone COLD for most of the anglers. Every species of fish seemed to be biting except Walleye's. It was reported large numbers of panfish, Northern Pike, Perch, Yellow Bass, Large and Small Mouth Bass and several Muskies were caught. Most fishermen stayed in East Lake. Anglers were trolling crankbaits, slip bobbering with leaches, pitching jigs, pulling crawler harnesses with little success for Walleye. 26 anglers recorded a total 7 fish by 5 teams, two teams had two fish and 3 teams had one. The local anglers said this was the slowest bite they have ever experienced. The lake is noted for large numbers of fish.
