Lynxville Dam

Post by jigamabobber »

Well with the fishing reports pretty slow, I figured i'd chime in with a report.

Went up to Harpers Ferry to do a little ice fishing. After hearing horrible reports from the backwaters and another report saying the Genoa dam has been great, me and a buddy figured we would give the Lynxville dam a try through the ice. Glad we did!

Ended up with 20 or so fish with a decent limit for each of us in about 3-4 hours. Fish ranged with the biggest at a 22" saugeye. A few 18" walleyes and several 14-15" sauger(sorting required).

All came from a small ice rod, tungsten jig, and a rosie red minnow. If you wernt using a small jig you wernt catching fish.

I forgot to add.. this was last Saturday so there should still be plenty of ice (12"+) in most places.

great report---look out you ice fishing guys. If------if we get some 40 plus weather for a week you'll see boats heading you way. Can't wait to be the first at the damn in open water. Jim.
