Thanks for giving us a heads up. Just curious why the board decided to have 2 tourneys on 9 in the same year? There are other pools.

The tournament board picked pool nine for the spring tournament based on that we have been to Harper for the last few years and we felt a change would be best. But if you look back at the last few years for that tournament we have seen a wide range of conditions. From just ice out, flood, spawning fish and just staging fish, clean and dirty water, cold and snow and sun. So even though we fish the same water there has never been the same bite. The fall tournament has a very good following and we felt to leave this one alone. The spring tournament at Harper's is popular and easy for the ramp issue we usually face in the spring. We can try other pools in the spring, but the boat ramp issue is the biggest hold up at most other pools. The idea was to try Genoa's ramp next spring and go from there.
The tournament board would like to see new blood on the board. New blood brings new ideas and leadership to help the club tournaments grow and help the club grow. Please bring your ideas to the table.

It show's 2 tourney's on pool 9. None on ten. Could that be a typo?

Doug,
Nope thats not a type Po. As Matt explained it The conditions of weather, water, temp, snow all played a part in the decision to fish pool 9.
It could all change by spring.

I know I am little late for this post, but has the tournament board ever thought about having the tournaments on Sunday, instead of Saturday?

Yes, Zach we have done Sunday tournaments in the past, but seems the majority of our anglers prefer Saturday tournaments. There are advantages and disadvantages to both days and we have favored Saturday tournaments the last 2-3 years and have stuck with it. Thanks for the comments.

Ok thought i would check to see if it has been discussed before, and if the other anglers prefer them then thats the way it should be. I would like to fish a few more next year. I have fished the bass tournaments and a few of the walleye tournaments over the last few years and there is a difference in the camraderie. We have a great group of guys in this club, makes it a lot of fun.

All 2013 tournament permits have been approved so the schedule is set. We are still waiting on some details for the September Cedar River Multi-Species Tournament and a date will be posted as soon as we get that info.
