Honor Flight

My dad and me are privilaged to be able to go on the honor flight Sept. 27 from the Waterloo Airport. Dad saw a lot of battle action in N. Africa and Europe in the war. He was a tank destoyer commander and that probably ruined his hearing. He's 92 now and lives at assisted living. Randy H.

I'm glad you and your Dad (Howard) have the honor of getting to go. I wish we could do more for those that put there lives on the line for our country. Congratulations!

This is a great deal for the WW2 Vets. I talked to a guy that was 92 or 93 from Tripola while fishing at Lake Osakis, Minn. a coulpe of weeks ago that went on the fight in May. He couldn't say enough good about it. It's very well organized and you'll see a lot in the short time you're there. To bad they couldn't have done this 20-30 years ago. My dad and father inlaw both were WW2 vets and are both gone now. The vets are pretty pround of the Honor Flight caps they get.

Thanks Bill,for your comments. What a surprise the other day at 65 mph to look over and see your smiling face go by. I was coming back from a day fishing at Lansing that was semiductive. I guess now the old river is at it's lowest point people can remember. RH.
