Genoa March 26th 2022 results

16 teams departed at 745 am. with morning temperatures below freezing and a north wind blowing 20-30 +mph, what had started out earlier in the week as a fair to good Walleye bite changed dramatically with dirty and high raising water levels and it didn't get any better though-out the day. Probably one of the worst, if not the worst weather conditions we have ever had in a tournament, dealing with ice building up in our reels, rod tips and guides and trying to keep your hands warm just added to the challenge. The results reflected the extremely brutal weather conditions as only two teams catching and recording a total of three fish. Tim and Tom Ahrens with two Walleye for 9.67lbs, including a 6.55 lb. for big fish and the Father Son team of Nick and Ben Baker with one fish for 4.38lbs. also good for 2nd. place big fish. The good news, if you could call it that? 14 teams tied for 3rd. receiving 390 points each towards next year's N.T.C. qualification.

As our rules state, due to only 2 teams recording fish there will be an equal drawing of three places at our meeting April 4th, for the remaining prize money of $153.60 ($51.20 each) and a drawing for the 3rd. place big fish pot of $64.00.

A big shout out and thanks to Craig Schmitt and Les Keune and all other club members who helped during boat launching by spreading sand on the steep and icy boat ramp!!!

Next Tournament, Harpers Ferry April 9th. hopefully with nicer weather!!!
See you then, tight Lines,
Tim
